TRIL is an applied research centre which focuses on deploying technologies in a "real-world" environment and moving technologies from the lab to the home. This is achieved through our Home Deployment Programme, where TRIL research technologies are deployed into the homes of older people who have been assessed in the TRIL Clinic.
This programme provides TRIL with a valuable opportunity to validate its research technologies. Moving technologies from a controlled to an uncontrolled environment ensures TRIL can identify and learn from the practical, technical and user challenges with technologies adoption.
The home deployment programme investigates the following areas:

• Usability & participant adoption
• Clinical efficacy & value
We have so far deployed technologies to over 200 homes and will continue to move technologies from the lab to the home to better understand the challenges and benefits with in-home technologies for independent living.
