Once the in depth, 360 degree clinical assessments from the cross-sectional study (2007-2009) and the follow-up longitudinal study (2010) was completed, the data was stored to a secure database. The team of multidisciplinary researchers within TRIL mine this resource to identify new correlations and associations between a myriad of health conditions and symptoms. The detailed and holistic nature of the information collected is providing new insights and research directions leading to characterisation of older individuals at risk of falls, cognitive impairment and social isolation. The longitudinal analysis follows up on a subset of the original cohort and may enable researchers, not just to characterise but identify causative markers of physical, cognitive and social decline in older people.
TRIL's clinical research focuses on:
- Falls Prevention
- Perceptual Function
- Cognitive Health
- Wellness & Exercise
- Social & Mental Health
